Our Venue

The Lorenzo State Historic Site is one of the jewels of Cazenovia, New York. The site hosts the original home of John Lincklaen, founder of Cazenovia. The surrounding gardens and the view of Cazenovia Lake make this an outstanding site for the 3 day driving competition.

Lorenzo 2018

A word from the Board

Mother Nature was not friendly to LDC in 2017! Many of you know that, for the first time in the history of the 40 year- old event, it was cancelled due to unsafe conditions caused by a storm that occurred on July 2. However, the wrath of Mother Nature was not enough to dampen the spirits of the LDC board and show committee and we plan to be back in 2018 with a vengeance! Mark your calendars for the weekend of July 20 – 22 for the 41st Lorenzo Driving Competition.

Here’s a brief preview of what’s in store:

• A three day show, beginning on Friday, July 20 with driven dressage  and a house rules timed country drive with incorporated cones course
• The addition of a Utility Division to the Saturday/Sunday Pleasure show
• Other additions, such as the Drive and Ride and a Grooms Class
• Family-fun activities will be expanded!!

The LDC board also would like to acknowledge our previous long time show Co-Managers Lisa (Shotzberger) Henry and Tim Williams as they have both decided to pass along the driving lines at this time. We appreciate the dedication they have provided to this event over the past years and wish the very best for them as they pursue other endeavors. We also extend a warm welcome to this year's Show Manager Hannah Polson from Cochranville, PA. Hannah comes to us with an extensive carriage driving background and she recently received her "r" Combined Driving Judge status. As a Cazenovia College graduate, Hannah competed at LDC in the early 2000's and we are excited to have her back among us in a management position.

Our sincere wishes to all of our loyal and new competitors, supporters and attendees and we look forward to seeing you on the third full weekend of July: 20 – 22, 2018!!

Best wishes,

The LDC Board of Directors and Show Committee
